Frank Ocean is the New Face of Prada
The ever-mysterious and elusive, Frank Ocean, has been revealed as the latest face of none other than Prada, appearing in the Italian label’s SS20 campaign which dropped this week.
Ocean, a noted Prada stan, is no stranger to the brand’s iconography, showing up to the Met Gala last year wearing a security guard-style Prada quarter-zip. More recently, he donned the iconic fashion house’s wares for a recent spread in W Magazine.

Photographed in black and white and colour by photographer David Sims, Ocean, who has sported various Prada red carpet looks in the past few years looks completely in his element. Standing alone in a parquet-floored apartment, one photograph portrays the singer wearing a long tailored coat, an oversized shirt, a pair of cropped camel trousers, and a slim bolo tie. The other sees him in a black roll-neck sweater, as he stares listlessly into the distance.

Conceptualized by Ferdinando Verderi, the SS20 collection is “an intentional display of duality, multiplicity, constant reinvention and renewal.” As a recurrent motif of the campaign meant to evoke and inspire ‘abstract ideas, thoughts, and notions’, the Prada logo has been repurposed and turned into an acronym which Ocean puts his own words to: “Programming Rhythms And Dancing Again”.
