Inside the Universe of Creative Matters x Anna Muller
Creative Matters has always had a way of transforming the ordinary into the artful, and their latest collaboration pushes that alchemy even further. The Toronto-based design studio and the Paris-based photographer Anna Muller partnered together to create a stunning visual campaign that explores the sweet spot where technical mastery meets creative instinct. This collection of photographs feel like a glimpse into Creative Matters’ creative process, where colour is treated as both a discipline and a playground.
Their partnership traces back to Paris Design Week 2022, when Muller first encountered Creative Matters’ Winter Garden installation, and something clicked for both of them. Conversations were had, and eventually a shared vision started to take shape, one rooted in the belief that rugs aren’t just decor, they’re living, breathing, evolving works of art.

“When we met Anna, it was clear that she instinctively understood our rugs not only as finished works, but as a process deconstructed and rich in instinctive creativity and technical mastery,” says Ana Cunningham, Managing Partner at Creative Matters.

Muller’s photographs do more than capture the surface beauty of Creative Matters’ rugs. Her lens digs into the instinct, the craft, and especially the breathtaking command of colour that defines Creative Matters’ work.
“When I received the samples, it was breathtaking,” Anna shares. “Colour has a powerful effect on me, and the gradients and shades of these rugs stirred deep emotions. The rugs are stunning. They seem to invite endless combinations and playful new scenes each time.”

The collaboration stands as a testament to Creative Matters’ mission to expand how we experience design. By inviting artists like Muller into their world, they reveal their rugs not as static objects, but as evolving narratives told through texture, imagination, and the ever-shifting pulse of colour.
